Biography

Dr. Emmanuel Kofi Amponsah is an accomplished Dental Surgeon in the Specialty of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery who is interested in Cleft Surgery and reconstruction of the Maxillofacial Region. Currently, Dr. Dr. Amponsah is the Foundation Dean of School of Dentistry, University For Development Studies, Tamale, Northern Region, Ghana, West Africa. Dr. Dr. Amponsah, holds a Fellow of Ghana College of Surgeons, Fellow of Ghana Dental Association, PhD in Maxillofacial Surgery (Saint Petersburg, Russia, 2007) Specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (Saint Petersburg, Russia, 2006) and Master of Dental Science (MDSc, Saint Petersburg, Russia, 2005). Dr. Dr. Amponsah had his houseman-ship at The Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Ghana from 1995 to 1996 after graduating from Lviv Meical Institute in Ukraine in June 1995. Dr. Dr. Amponsah worked as a Medical Officer (Dental) in the Gold Mining Town of Tarkwa, in the Western Region of Ghana from 1997 to 2003 before returning to Russia to pursue his further studies. Dr. Dr. Amponsah in 2011 joined the Ghana Battalion 74 (GHANBAT 74) in Lebanon for United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) for peace keeping where he received a meritorious award from the Commander for United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Dr. Dr. Amponsah was also the Vice-President of Ghana Dental Association from 2009 to 2011. Dr. Dr. Amponsah is the Coordinator for Ghana-Korea Medical Cooperative Project in Sunyani Regional Hospital from 2013 to date, where he worked as a Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon from 2007 to May 2020 (13years)
